So today I noticed I am being charged $12.00 on my credit card one a month since March by a company named "CIC * Triple Advantage." After further investigation I have discovered that the "Free" credit report I signed on for back in March wasn't actually free. I actually signed up for a monthly subscription that I don't actually get anything for.
So now I am trying to get my money back from this incredibly greasy scam. I spent 30 minutes on a "hold" line to contact customer service only to be hung up on immediately. And so goes that for the next five times I called back. Tomorrow I will be calling my credit card company and sorting this out with them. My mom told me I should request my account number be changed so this company can't continue to charge me.
I've been reading up about this company and have discovered that they have been the subject of multiple class-action lawsuits, fines by the FTC totaling $1.25 million and over 3,800 complaints with the Better Business Bureau. And everyone has had problems getting refunds. The representatives will send you in circles, one customer wrote that they contacted the company, was TOLD they would receive their refund in 7-10 business days only to discover the company charged them the amount to be refunded AGAIN and then "refunded" their money. I am so frustrated right now. I now know it says on their website, clearly that you will be charged. But it DID NOT say that anywhere in a clearly stated area when I signed up. The company probably decided to revamp their website to try to stop giving out refunds to people who deserve them. God. Bull...shit.
I get to fight with the company tomorrow I guess. I'm not going to fight too long though, I don't think I should have to to get money back that is rightfully mine. Am I crazy for thinking this? I'm just ranting. I am so frustrated and...AUGHHHH!!! - Beckie
